CW is especially keen at spotting cats lately. This morning she was up early and I joked, “You must be really excited to sniff out kitties to chase today! Let’s go find some kitties!”
Thought we'd see zero (per usual), but of course we saw a record amount. Even a road kill kitty she refused to walk away from.
“But mom, that coyote from a few weeks ago will get to eat this kitty if I don't right now!”
I had to carry her.
Just to get her far enough away that she was willing to walk again.
Told her I was going break off her legs when we got home. And that I was going to return her. That’s when I noticed a young girl walk by. She probably called animal control on me.
We get to the gas station (the one where Herc tripped me in front of a record amount of people gassing up their cars) and she refuses to leave a road kill doughnut.
Man down! Leave no doughnut behind!
I got to carry her again.
It's a good thing she's pretty.
Out the door at 510am. The beasts are back on the summer running schedule, which is my favorite as hardly a soul is stirring outside before 530am.
With one exception.
I used to love them. I wanted to be a cat lady.
Now I scowl at them.
This morning's cat I wanted to strangle and praise all at once. The ravenous beasts fought hard to get near enough to eat this one. The cat stood its ground. The pack lunged and jumped and made domesticated aggressive noises. The cat was poised for a brawl but still it stayed where it was. It was like a scene off Marty Stouffer's Wild America (cue classic reminiscing of childhood).
Eventually I was able to wrestle the Cdub and Herc away from the scene with a promise of extra breakfast. Suckers. ;)
Cool Whip, charged with homemade bread thievery in March, has been convicted of aggravated trippery this morning. Though Cdub was cleared of thievery charges due to lack of evidence, there were witnesses to the tripping incident. Her owner was seen falling awkwardly and flailing about, suffering a bloody knee and wounded pride.
